Pore Refinement
Enlarged pores are a common concern, especially in the T-zone area (forehead, nose, chin). They can make the skin appear uneven and are an aesthetic issue for many people.

What causes enlarged pores?
-
Excess sebum production: When the skin produces too much oil, it mixes with dead skin cells and accumulates in the pores. This stretches them, making them appear larger.
-
Genetics: Pore size is partly hereditary. People with naturally oily skin often have more visible pores.
-
Skin aging: As we age, the skin loses elasticity. This can cause pores to become wider.
-
Inadequate cleansing: If the skin is not cleansed regularly, dirt and makeup can clog the pores and lead to their enlargement.
-
UV exposure: Sun damage breaks down collagen in the skin, which can also contribute to enlarged pores.
Which skin types are more prone to visible pores?
Oily and combination skin types are particularly prone to large, visible pores, especially in the T-zone.
What can I do to improve the appearance of my skin?
At Medizin am Hauptbahnhof in Vienna, we offer a range of treatment options:
Which treatment is right for you depends on a number of factors: your skin type, other skin concerns (e.g., pigmentation, wrinkles, skin laxity), and even the time of year.
The first step is an initial consultation with one of our dermatologists. During this appointment, we’ll determine the best treatment or combination of treatments for you and create a personalized plan tailored to your skin.
